The Argideen River Walk

The Argideen River Walk is a scenic 3km riverside trail in Timoleague, offering peaceful walks through woods and along the beautiful Argideen Estuary. This easy, well-marked trail showcases West Cork's natural beauty with diverse habitats including estuarine mudflats, saltmarsh, woodland, and coastal scenery.

Wildlife & Nature

The Argideen Estuary is designated as a Special Area of Conservation, hosting internationally important numbers of Black-tailed Godwits and nationally significant populations of Cormorant, Teal, Redshank, Great Northern Diver, and many other wading birds and wildfowl. The drowned valley is filled with sediments creating extensive mudflats where birds feed. Trinity Well (Tobar na Tríonóide) is also located along the route.
